Breaking boundaries both musically and geographically, Ian Maksin, a cellist, composer, and multilingual vocalist, has crafted a unique style. He blends diverse genres and traditional music from around the globe, using his cello as the central unifying force.

As a one-man orchestra, Maksin incorporates an electronic loop pedal, enabling him to create mesmerizing layers in real-time by recording and replaying his cello playing.

Singing in an astonishing 30 languages, Maksin's concerts offer a one-of-a-kind experience. His linguistic passion, cultivated during his world travels, inspires his performances in various exotic languages, enriching his repertoire with diverse cultural influences.

Born in Leningrad, former USSR, into a multicultural family, Maksin absorbed a myriad of traditions and cultures from a young age. After studying music in the USA, he embarked on a musical journey that blends his classical background with rock, blues, jazz, and world music, resulting in his unique and captivating style.

In Maksin's view, music is a potent and unifying force, capable of healing and bringing peace to the world. His vision is beautifully embodied through his mastery of the cello.
